Early morning on EDSA --Magallanes area

Depending on which side of EDSA you're coming from, EDSA is one of the busiest roads in Metro Manila, but in some parts in the morning, it is surprisingly light. Every morning, when the traffic report appears on TV, one of the usually crowded areas of EDSA is the EDSA-Kamuning intersection. This crowded area begins as early as 6am in the morning. So here I am, the commuter from Antipolo (Yes! I live there!), going to work in Makati. While walking along the overpass, I took this picture of EDSA on a regular weekday morning, before 7am, Manila time.
This is the traffic coming from the South, the area of EDSA-Magallanes interchange. Many employees come from the South to work in business districts like Makati, Fort Bonifacio, Ortigas Center, and many parts of Quezon City. Usually, this is the scene before 7am in the morning. Come 7am onwards, this could turn ugly as more and more vehicles come at the same time during the 7am morning rush.

Here is another view from the opposite side, from the North. When I captured this, it was bright and sunny. You can see the MRT station on this picture (Magallanes station). Again, not too crowded as well. But this is still before 7am. This is the North bound lane. The Northbound lane on the other hand, vehicles pass either up and on the flyover bound for Baclaran or Pasay area (as seen in the picture above, the left flyover), or down where you could see the entrance to the MRT station and the intersection of EDSA-- Pasong Tamo. But this is a dead end. I shall get a picture of this dead end for my next blog. Until then...

What to do while waiting...Enjoy the lights and sounds show!

Christmas was both rough and happy times. There was one time when I had to literally wait for my salary to get credited. I was off by 4 pm, and sad to say, my salary came it around 7pm that day. I had to wait simply because I had no money to go home. (Yep!
Pretty daring of me to run out of money!)

So I ended up in Ayala Triangle that night. It caught my attention because I heard music...Christmas music being played. At first, I thought that there was a live orchestra or a band playing at the park.

I ended up seeing an awesome lights and sounds show that was one of the Christmas offerings at the Ayala Triangle. The music and the lights were in perfect coordination. It lasted for I think around ten to fifteen minutes. When it ended, all the lights go on and people there would all cry out Awwwwww! and clap their hands. What comes next?
Picture taking!

I got my meager camera phone and I just shot away. I realized that when shooting lights using my camera phone, the pixels would show. Well, I wasn't in it for the photographic beauty. I simply need to capture the moment for myself to view and remember. Well, you don't see this kind of stuff everyday. So capture it, Carpe Diem!
Lights can be a relaxing sight especially when done this way. I couldn't help but capture one right here.

Well, this certainly kept me busy and amused while waiting for my salary that night. I didn't even notice that it was already 7 pm. My friend sent me a text to remind me that our salary has already been credited. And this was one of many things I did while I was just waiting around.
